French musician Charlotte Gainsbourg has unveiled a video for “Sylvia Says,” off of last year’s Rest. The video was self-directed and was described as: “...the visuals echo [Sylvia] Plath and Gainsbourg's abilities to mine huge themes from something as small as a blink of an eye, and similarly portray the unruly powers of subjectivity. Glassy winter sunlight shines on a pedestrian-packed city street scene, as Gainsbourg walks toward the crowd. The video first appears to be a slice-of-life view of New York City as the workday lets out and people begin their commutes-an already odd everyday experience, wholly isolated yet wholly public. But it quickly becomes unbound from visible reality, as we delve into a wild, more subconscious experience of the everyday onslaught of lives that pass by us in the street. Scenes are shot at extreme speeds on a Phantom camera, and the editing's rhythmic jolts disorient any notion of normalcy, bringing about an escalating of surreal imagery. A walk among strangers in the middle of New York can also, obviously, be a nap in a cloud of disco balls." [ Under the Radar ]

Chance the Rapper has revealed a number of interesting tidbits in a new interview with Peter Rosenberg for Complex. The biggest is that he has forthcoming projects with Childish Gambino and Kanye West. Speaking of Childish Gambino, “We’ve got six songs that are all fire, but I think the album is going to be more than 14 songs.” Donald Glover released his hit Childish Gambino track, “This Is America” last month. Chance released his last studio full-length, Coloring Book, in 2016. [ Pitchfork ]

Charli XCX is on her way to be the ultimate pop princess and she made her case even stronger today by dropping two new songs, “Focus” and “No Angel.” PC Music head A.G. Cook produced the former, along with Swedish duo Jack and Coke, while PC Music artist SOPHIE teamed up with Grammy-nominated trio Invisible Men to produce “No Angel.” Charli XCX released the single “5 In The Morning” last month.
