This Is Lorelei is the solo project of Brooklyn-based musician Nate Amos, a prolific artist consistently exploring the thrilling fringes of experimental pop as one-half of Water From Your Eyes (alongside Rachel Brown) and one-half of My Idea (alongside Lily Konigsberg). While this solo project of his been in existence since the early 2010s, Nate's more fully embraced This Is Lorelei ever since his wonderful 2024 album Box for Buddy, Box for Star and he just released his Matador Records debut The Singer in My Band on September 11th.
This Is Lorelei's exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World offers a glimpse into some of his all-time favorite songs that have undoubtedly influenced his own unique sound that sits at a classic intersection of pop, rock, country, and folk, and he slyly mixes things up at the end and closes with Amerie's iconic 2005 R&B hit "1 Thing."
