Russell Ellington Langston Butler is a Bermudian artist, DJ, and electronic producer living in Brooklyn, NY. Russell primarily works with modular synthesizers to create compelling recordings that have been released on premier underground electronic labels including Opal Tapes, Club Chai, Left Hand Path, Jacktone, Spectral Sound, and Mister Saturday Night. Since 2017, Russell's talents as both a DJ and live performer have led to invitations to perform in Europe and beyond, and this year Russell also started a career in audio engineering.
Russell's guest DJ mix for Midnight In A Perfect World is a cerebral journey through hypnotic techno rhythms and hazy ambient passages that's handled with an enveloping and slightly experimental touch. The mix also contains a couple nods to Seattle's diverse music scene, with adventurous bookend pieces by Seattle's own 'no hup' and a surprise inclusion of Seattle rapper Kid Sensation's 1990 single "Back To Boom" in the final third.
