Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis has shared a ripping cover of Tom Petty’s 1979 hit “Don’t Do Me Like That.” The single follows last year’s solo record Elastic Days, his third solo effort following 2014’s Tied to a Star. Dinosaur Jr.’s last release was 2016’s Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not. The Petty cover was revealed alongside news of an international tour he’ll be embarking on next week.

A fan of covers, Mascis has previously recreated Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You,” Led Zeppelin’s “Tangerine,” The Smiths “A Boy With a Thorn In His Side,” The Beatles’ “Doctor Robert,” among others. “Don’t Do Me Like That” originally appeared on Petty’s third studio album Damn the Torpedoes.
