A long-lost recording from American folk icon Woody Guthrie has been discovered by the Shel Silverstein Archive and shared by Variety. The song is called “Hoodoo Voodoo” and sees Sonny Terry and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott join Guthrie for the 1954 gentle strummer. Verified by the Woody Guthrie Archive, the song was long-thought to never have been put to music or recorded.

In 1998, Wilco and Billy Bragg recorded the song for the album Mermaid Avenue, which contained their interpretations of unfinished and unrecorded Guthrie songs. Below, listen to “Hoodoo Voodoo” and watch KEXP’s 2016 Woody Guthrie Tribute featuring Gerald Collier, Bill Frisell with Luke Bergman, and John Doe performing live in the KEXP studio.
