If you missed the debut EP by new indie supergroup boygenius then you have truly been sleeping. Made up of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, last month’s self-titled EP is chock-full of gorgeously intimate songs. One of the highlights is “Me & My Dog,” a heartbreaking Bridgers-led song. Last night, the trio stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to play the song, only a day after playing their first show together ever. Not that you’d be able to guess with the perfection of their emotive performance.
“A long time ago, before I even met Phoebe, Julien mentioned that she had a pipe dream of starting a band with both of us,” says Dacus. “Then we booked this tour and decided the time was right.”
boygenius will be in Seattle on Saturday, November 24th to play The Moore Theatre. Watch the band’s Late Night performance below along with Bridgers’ KEXP in-studio from July.
