  • R&B legend Ben E. King, founding member of the Drifters, has passed away from natural causes. King broke out as a solo artist with the single "Spanish Harlem," but it was the timeless classic "Stand By Me," which he also cowrote, that made him a star.   • Foxygen debuted a brutally intense new single called "24 Hour Lover Man." The duo is in the middle of their "Farewell Tour," and yet they're still releasing new music. That's dedication. [Pitchfork]

  • Dee Dee, frontwoman of Dum Dum Girls, is now releasing music with producer Andrew Miller under the moniker HUNI. They've shared the project's first single, "Is There Any Other One?" It's an ethereal track that effortlessly mixes his soulful rhythms with her breathy vocals. [Stereogum]

  • Last night, Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers made their US late-night television debut. They delivered a high-energy performance of their 1996 hit "A Design for Life" on the Late Late Show with James Corden. Check it out below. [SPIN]
