  • Icelandic icons Sigur Rós have announced they'll be reissuing their 1999 sophomore release Ágætis byrjun this summer as a deluxe limited edition box set. The band state via their website, "the deluxe boxset edition will feature previously unheard studio recordings and rare live versions from this pivotal period in the band’s development, as well as a welter of photographic and documentary material from their personal archives and plenty more besides. it will be a beautiful thing to behold, and the last word in completist editions of sigur rós catalogue releases." No official release date set yet, but you can watch a preview video for the release below. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Nick Thorburn (of Islands and The Unicorns) has revived his solo moniker "Nick Diamonds" for the sophomore full-length City of Quartz. Check out the first single "The Sting" below, featuring some lead guitar licks from Aan Zee. City of Quartz will be released May 26th via Thorburn’s own Manque Music label. [Consequence of Sound]

  • UK group Django Django share the video for the track "First Light," the first single from their upcoming full-length Born Under Saturn. Director Daniel Swan runs with a literal interpretation of the song title, creating a beautiful light-filled clip. Born Under Saturn is out May 5th via Ribbon Music. [Under the Radar]

  • Up-and-coming singer/songwriter Natalie Prass (also a member of Jenny Lewis’s band) stopped by Last Call With Carson Daly last night to perform two tracks from her self-titled debut of orchestral, soul-steeped pop.
