Tune in this Saturday, September 13th for another special all-electronic edition of Audioasis as KEXP and the city of Seattle gears up for this year's Decibel Festival happening September 24th through September 28th. Hosted by DJ Alex and co-produced with the help and guidance of Audioasis host DJ Sharlese, the show will feature live performances from Seattle-based outfit Cock & Swan at 6:30 PM PT and Vancouver, BC-based electronic duo Sabota at 8:00 PM PT.The musical project of Seattle's Johnny Goss and Ola Hungerford, Cock & Swan have been a fixture in the local underground electronic community for over a decade, releasing three albums (most recently 2013's Secret Angles) under the Cock & Swan name in addition to recording and collaborating with a diverse roster of musician friends, creating sounds from all over the musical map. For both their KEXP and Decibel Festival performance, Johnny and Ola will be joined by fellow local artist and producer Sax G.

Sabota is the musical union of veteran electronic producer and analogue synth wizard Max Ulis alongside vocalist/producer Robbie Slade, the latter also moonlighting as the lead singer in Vancouver, BC synth/pop band Humans. Sabota’s self-titled debut album from the beginning of this year introduced their confident and mature tech-house style that's equal parts sexy and cerebral. They'll be playing Decibel's Festival Opening Gala Showcase at the EMP Sky Church on Wednesday September 24th with Seattle's Lusine and Portland's Natasha Kmeto.

In addition to these two exclusive live performances, Decibel's Marketing Director Matthew Dressman will be swinging by at 7:15 PM PT to talk about the festival, Decibel's history, and special new additions to this year's program. Amidst this flurry of activity, DJ Alex will be sharing the best of contemporary Pacific Northwest electronic music, spotlighting the latest from established artists and budding newcomers, and placing an additional focus on local artists playing this year's Decibel Festival. Tune in to discover the vibrant and fertile talent pool of electronic musicians that currently call the Pacific Northwest their home.

[ Full Disclosure: DJ Alex is also the owner of Hush Hush Records, the label to which Cock & Swan are signed. ]
