Markus Acher is the co-founding member of The Notwist, a beloved and quietly influential German band that was formed in 1989 and have explored a myriad of styles over their illustrious career. Fresh off releasing the Magnificent Fall album in November 2025 that collected rarities, remixes, B-sides, and unreleased material from the band's rich, deep history, The Notwist just announced that their next album News from Planet Zombie will be released March 13, 2026.
For his exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, Markus has truly created something beautiful, intimate, and transportive as he weaves together delicate folk songs, field recordings, and dreamy experimental ambient moments. He shares: "This is a suite of songs, sounds and memories that inspired me for our new Notwist album.
