Midnight in a Perfect World: La Mala Noche

La Mala Noche is a Seattle-based artist who's been DJ'ing for over a decade and has emerged as an integral figure in championing Latin music on the local club scene. Driven by a passion for advancing Latin Club culture in the Pacific Northwest, La Mala Noche and her mentor Papito Peace launched their popular party, Sazón Seattle, in late 2023. This environment showcases emerging talent in Global Dance Music, particularly inviting artists with Latin and Hispanic identities, while providing a space for music lovers to connect, celebrate, learn, and create unforgettable memories together.

In regards to her dizzying and thrilling guest DJ mix, La Mala Noche shares: "This mix commemorates the recent one-year anniversary of my party, Sazón Seattle, while celebrating the global rise of Latin dance music in the Electronic scene. As someone who grew up in Seattle, it's been incredible to see the city's DJ culture evolve and embrace its Latin identity, making it an honor to create a space that blends both worlds into a community that has never existed here."

La Mala Noche can be found spinning every month at Sazón Seattle and she'll also be spinning at this year's Treefort Music Fest in Boise.

Midnight in a Perfect World, KEXP's weekly hour-long guest DJ show, airs Fridays at midnight.
