mui zyu is the solo project of London-based British Hong Kong musician Eva Liu, a multifaceted artist who is also the lead singer of the UK trio Dama Scout. Originally making her debut as mui zyu in 2021 with the a wonderful thing vomits EP via Father/Daughter Records, she's known for her dreamy, effervescent, bedroom pop that carries a melancholic, cinematic, coming-of-age undercurrent. This past May she released her second full-length album nothing or something to die for.
For her exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, mui zyu takes the listener on a dreamy, atmospheric, and hypnotic journey through ambient, jazz, classical, and other cerebral experimental styles. In her distinctive escapist fashion, she describes her mix as taking "a hovercraft over the fluffy waves, stopping off at sonic passing places to catch your breath and peer through to the otherworld."
