sqip is the project of Portland-based singer-songwriter, record producer, DJ, designer, and artist Cole Mitchell Johnson. sqip's first album battery was released in June 2020 during the George Floyd protests and this past April they unveiled their second album boi, an expansive 44-minute album full of abstract, singer-songwriter-y, emotional electronic music organized into a fun, lucid experience. Cole is also the founder of barn radio, a multidisciplinary space and community radio station in Portland with a focus on prioritizing BIPOC artists across a range of genres.
