Gayance is the alias of Montréal-based Haitian-Canadian musician, DJ, producer, filmmaker and storyteller Aïsha Vertus. Taking her name from the Haitian creole word for joyfulness, Gayance began as a DJ in 2013 and she's since traveled the world to share her infectious energy and genre-blurring vibes. Following a stream of recent EPs and singles, she released her debut full-length album Mascarade on March 3rd via London's Rhythm Section International Records. The record paints a colorful, intimate, and honest portrait of Gayance's life during her 20s through jazzy house rhythms and broken beat grooves and showcases her multilingual vocal talents and poetic songwriting.
