Midnight In A Perfect World: 214

214 is the alias of Chris Roman, a veteran electronic producer, Miami native, and longtime Pacific Northwest resident who has been crafting top-notch dancefloor jams for over two decades. As a devoted aficionado to the Electro genre, 214's music finds inspiration in the bass-heavy beats of his vibrant hometown as well as the escapist sentiments that loom large within his home studio located in the foothills of North Bend. Since his production debut in 2002, he's racked up a deep discography with releases on notable labels such as Frustrated Funk, Klakson, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Shipwrec, 20:20 Vision, and Touchin Bass, and his hardware-heavy live sets have captivated audiences across the globe, including three invitations to play at Berlin's acclaimed venue Berghain. A lowkey yet stalwart figure within Seattle's electronic community, 214 continues to keep Electro alive and thriving in the 2020s.

In his own words, 214's exclusive guest DJ mix is "an influences mix of sorts. From an Electro point of view, these are types of sounds that led to my love of the genre and discovery of my sound. Hopefully this will influence others to find their own sound as it did for me back then. All these tracks span the 1990s and are 20+ years old, from the early to the late when the Electro sound was flourishing."
