London-based trio Kero Kero Bonito have evolved from word-of-mouth underground darlings into a bonafide pop force over their 10-year career. Propelled by the elastic beats of producers Gus Lobban and Jamie Bulled and the bilingual vocal stylings of vocalist Sarah Midori Perry, Kero Kero Bonito's adventurous and unpredictable pop blends a wide array of influences into their own distinctive and singular sound. This past April they released Civilisation II, a sequel to their 2019 EP Civilisation that pairs their bright and glowing sound – created entirely on vintage hardware – with lyrics tackling the pandemic, tragedy, and end times.
In regards to their transportive, experimental, and evocative guest DJ mix, Kero Kero Bonito describe it as: "Fourth World Synth Pop, Medieval MIDI Files and a string quartet piece that hopes for a wind that will blow COVID-19 away. This is Kero Kero Bonito’s Midnight in a Perfect World.”
