Noel Brass Jr. is a Seattle-based composer, keyboardist, educator, and founding member of the local psychedelic trio Afrocop. A prolific solo artist constantly sharing new releases on his Bandcamp page, Noel's music explores a captivating intersection between spacey ambience, cosmic jazz, sci-fi soundtracks, film noir, new age, and dreamy psychedelic sounds. His exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight In A Perfect World feels and sounds like hanging out with a good friend who's excited to share some favorite obscure cuts from their extensive vinyl collection. Along the sonic journey, Noel puts the needle on a wide range of psychedelic, soulful, and evocative songs that includes the fuzzy psych-pop of British band The Bees, the spacious avant-R&B ballads of Moses Sumney, the sultry vocal-laced pop of Herbert, and much more all before fittingly closing out with the exploratory jazz vibrations of legendary drummer and composer Max Roach.
