This Friday, April 17th at 4 PM PT, the cast of the 1996 movie That Thing You Do! will reunite for a benefit livestream. Directed by Tom Hanks, the film follows the fictional 1960s pop band "The Wonders" who rocket to fame with the hit single titled (surprise!) "That Thing You Do." The actors who portrayed the group (Johnathon Schaech, Steve Zahn, Tom Everett Scott, and Ethan Embry) will be joined by co-star Liv Tyler to provide commentary for a livestream of the film.

Plus, the stream will raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, in honor of songwriter Adam Schlesinger, who died of COVID-19 complications on April 1. Schlesinger wrote the title theme for the movie, garnering nominations for both Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for "Best Original Song."

The livestream player is embedded below along with the original trailer for the film. (It's a really quite charming movie!) And keep track of all these recent livestreams via KEXP's Events page, updated daily.
