Photay is the multi-faceted project of NYC-based drummer, electronic producer, and all-around versatile musician Evan Shornstein. Hailing from the lush and peaceful evergreen valley of Woodstock, NY, Evan was still a teenager when he emerged as Photay in November 2012 with the release of his debut album 1st, an album that set the stage for his beloved breakout self-titled debut album in 2014 on Astro Nautico Records. This past summer Photay released his fourth full-length album titled Waking Hours, a record that marked his first on Mexican Summer Records and found him adding a funky pop-tinted element to his absorbing, rhythmic, and exploratory sound.
