Flying Lotus is releasing his first album in five years, Flamagra, at the end of the month. Following previous singles “Takashi,” the Little Dragon-featuring “Spontaneous,” and the David Lynch-featuring “Fire Is Coming,” he’s now shared “More,” which sees Anderson .Paak taking the mic. Thundercat is also listed as a co-writer and his warbly bass line is integral to the spacey song as Paak dexterously flows over the kaleidoscopic production. The song was premiered on Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio where FlyLo told Zane Lowe this about “More”:
"We started this song about six years ago. Pretty much, like right away. It was early, it was early. You know, but I didn’t have a project yet and it was like in the very beginning when I was starting to work on my new stuff."
Other artists featured on the massive 27-track album include Shabazz Palaces, Solange, George Clinton, Tierra Whack, Toro Y Moi, and Denzel Curry. There are multiple tracks on the album that were made in tribute to the late Mac Miller. FlyLo told Lowe this about his relationship with Miller:
"Mac lived right down the street from me, so I would see him on a rare occasion, but it was always after he made a whole bunch of shit. He was the one person just constantly kicking my door down trying to get beats off me. Hey man, I know you're working on a movie now, but what stuff you been working on?' I'm gonna miss that man, I miss that already."
Alongside the new song, Flying Lotus has announced a North American tour behind Flamagra, which includes a stop in Seattle on Sunday, August 11 at Showbox SoDo. Flamagra is out May 24 via Warp Records and follows 2014’s Your Dead!. Read the full list of tour dates and listen to “More” below.
