The Dan Boeckner-led band Operators have announced a new album due out this May titled Radiant Dawn. The record follows their 2016 debut Blue Wave.

Operators is comprised of Boeckner, single-named keyboardist Devojka, and drummer Sam Brown (who also joins Boeckner in Divine Fits). Today they've shared the lead single “Faithless,” a propulsive synth-filled head bobber that comes with a visualizer of waterfalls with pyramids and the word “HEBEPHA” overlaid atop. It seems there may be some sort of conspiracy-based concept behind the record, based on the trailer shared today.

Never one to sit on his laurels, Boeckner has kept incredibly busy since the last Operators record., He released Wolf Parade’s fourth studio album Cry Cry Cry in 2017 and played a series of sold-out shows in which Operators performed songs from the catalog of his now-defunct project with ex-wife Alexei Perry Cox, Handsome Furs. Operators have also announced a tour behind the new record, with a show in Seattle on Sunday, June 9 at Neumos.

Below, listen to “Faithless,” check out the trailer for Radiant Dawn, and watch Operators’ performance for KEXP at Iceland Airwaves in 2015.
