If a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound? It sure does when it's the Timber Outdoor Music Festival crashing down on Carnation, WA from Thursday, July 11th through Saturday, July 13th. Every year, they keep outdoing the year before, and in its lucky seventh installment, they raise the bar again with headliners west coast garage faves Oh Sees (formerly Thee Oh Sees), local legend Mark Lanegan, and Portland-based songstress Haley Heynderickx.
Additional acts include Hibou, Summer Cannibals, Kuinka, Chong the Nomad, Spesh, and so many more. For the younguns, there will be The Not-Its! and Mikey Mike the Rad Scientists. And from the younguns, two finalists from MoPop's under-21 Sound Off! competition will make their Timber debut: Tacoma’s Baja Boy and jazz hip-hop outfit Huey and the InFLOWentials.
As always, the festival offers up what they call "Adventures", and this year's activities include a morning 5k Fun Run around the trails of Tolt-Macdonald Park, kayaking along the Snoqualmie River, art making in nature, stand-up paddle boarding, yoga, s'mores, stargazing, and, debuting this year, the first annual River Float Regatta! (Prizes will be awarded for "Best Team Spirit", "Best Individual Performance," and "Best Synchronized Floating".)
Passes are available now, including camping and yurt rental – kids under 12 are given free admission.
