Brooklyn-based art-rockers The Hold Steady have shared another song in a series of singles released over the past year and a half, titled “The Last Time That She Talked To Me.” Following September’s “Confusion in the Marketplace” b/w “T-Shirt Tux,” the song was unveiled on Bandcamp today. Its $1 download price goes to the K+L Guardian Foundation, which was formed to benefit the children of “Jersey” Mike Van Jura, the unofficial leader of The Unified Scene, after he suddenly passed away in November 2012 at only 36 years of age. The single will arrive on streaming services this Friday, March 8 via Frenchkiss Records.
“We played this in November 2018 at Brooklyn Bowl so the trainspotters know of its existence, but here is the full-blown studio version,” the band explains on Bandcamp.
The Hold Steady haven’t released a full album since 2014’s Teeth Dreams. Meanwhile, frontman Craig Finn released his third solo album We All Want The Same Things in 2017 and has a fourth, I Need A New War, arriving on April 26 via Partisan Records.
