Animal Collective member Dave Portner aka Avey Tare is releasing a new record called Cows on Hourglass Pond this Friday, March 22 via Domino. Today, Portner has shared a hallucinogenic new single titled “HORS_” via a kaleidoscopic video by Portner’s sister Abby.
“I grew up with horses, so I wanted to make a video for this song since I first heard it at a show I did with Dave in Copenhagen 2 years ago,” Abby Portner said in a statement. “To me this video is just about the beauty of a horse, its movements, expressions and textures. I lit the horse, Calliope, like she was on a stage, colored lights and haze to take it out of context of a normal stable setting, turn the focus to the horse as a character and make it a bit more surreal.”
Cows on Hourglass Pond follows up 2017 ‘s Eucalyptus. Avey Tare will make his way to Seattle on Thursday, April 11 to play Neumos. Watch the video for “HORS_” below.
Feels has been remastered and reissued on two-disc vinyl along with a previously unreleased bootleg of a Seattle live show at Neumos from 2004
