Fiona Apple has teamed up with rising Brooklyn-based pop musician King Princess to recreate Apple’s 1999 song “I Know.”
“‘I Know’ is one of my favorite songs of all time,” King Princess shared in a statement. “Fiona said everything I would ever want to say to someone I love. Her giving me this song to sing, and singing it with me, is the greatest of gifts.”
The song initially appeared on Apple’s second studio album When the Pawn… which received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album and broke the record of being the album with the longest title (its full title is When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might so When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right). Apple released her latest album, The Idler Wheel…, in 2012 while King Princess, real name Mikaela Straus, released her debut EP Make My Bed last year.
