Ahold Of is the alias of Annie Holden, a Seattle-based DJ, artist, advocate, organizer, member of the local TUF collective, and one-half of the local DJ duo Nice Touch. Currently in law school, Annie is learning legal skills to advocate for social justice and human rights. Their MIAPW guest DJ mix is a brilliant conceptual mix packed with stellar underground tracks selected with clear narrative intent. Annie shared this message in regards to the mix:
"This mix is dedicated to workers everywhere caught in the grind of capitalism. The music tells the story of someone who gets a job in order to take control of their life, but slowly realizes it’s taking over their identity. I wanted to highlight that employment is often more than a simple transaction of labor for wages, and that we’re all complicit in a system with questionable moral underpinnings. 'Work' is a common trope in dance music, so it’s fitting to use it as a tool to critique the capitalist context in which it exists."
