Robin Pecknold kicked off the new year by sharing a series of Fleet Foxes demos on his Instagram account. The snippets likely come from the band’s forthcoming fourth album, which was promised to drop “within 24 months of LP3 according to contract.” LP3, Crack Up, was released in June of 2017 so if everything remains on schedule, the new record should drop this summer.
Peckhold posted seven audio clips with the caption, “Forward ! (Very very demos happy new year).” He’s previously teased the new album via videos from the studio last August. One video was captioned with "Rolling" and the other captioned "I T B E G I N S."
In November, Fleet Foxes released the retrospective box set First Collection 2006-2009, featuring the band's 2008 self-titled debut, the Sun Giant EP, and a slew of b-sides and rarities.
