Midnight In A Perfect World: Qrion

Born and raised in Sapporo, Japan and now based in the Bay Area, Qrion has been creating sleek dancefloor beats for labels such as Fool's Gold, Carpark Records, NestHQ, and Secret Songs over the past six years. During this time she's collaborated with artists such as Ryan Hemsworth, How To Dress Well, and Giraffage, and has shared stages with the likes of Porter Robinson, Slow Magic, and Four Tet. She closed out a busy 2018 with a pair of EPs — GAF 1 and GAF 2 — that showcased her adventurous, propulsive, and R&B-slanted take on magnetic house rhythms. Her exclusive guest DJ mix opens up with a tranquil instrumental piece by Arcade Fire composed for the 'Her' soundtrack before embarking on hypnotizing journey through propulsive underground house and cerebral tech-house rhythms that includes a couple of her own recent tracks. The mix perfectly closes out with Jacques Greene's chopped and screwed remix of Alicia Keys' classic single "Unthinkable."
