Canadian indie collective Broken Social Scene released their latest album Hug of Thunder nearly two years ago. It now appears the band has some new music up their sleeves, based on an exclusive set at George Stroumboulopoulos’ The Strombo Show where they premiered two new songs. The 45-minute video is jam-packed with good stuff including a cover of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and a gorgeous performance from Feist.
The set kicked off with You Forgot It In People’s “Cause = Time” before launching into the two new tracks, “Can’t Find My Heart” and “1972.” Occasional BSS member Jason Collett then took the reigns to perform his song “I’ll Bring The Sun,” after which new member Ariel Engle sung “TBT” from her solo project La Force. Leslie Feist then appeared to sing the beloved BSS ballad “Lover’s Spit.” The set ends with “Ibi Dreams Of Pavement (A Better Day),” off of 2005’s self-titled studio album, during which the “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” cover broke out.
