Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon may be gearing up for the release of the self-titled debut Big Red Machine record – his collaborative project with The National’s Aaron Dessner, out this Friday via Jagjaguwar – but he’s still found time to release some new material under his own name. The lengthy, sprawling ambient track “Agasteen” found its way onto Vernon’s PEOPLE streaming and distribution platform.

Vernon tweeted a note with a link to the track, saying, “Made a long piece of music that seems to relax me.” And you can certainly feel that while listening to “Agasteen.” The track meanders through a series of synthesizer loops with crackling and shimmering guitars distantly clashing in the background. It feels more akin to loop artists like William Basinski and Brian Eno than anything Vernon has done prior, including the experimentation heavy third Bon Iver album 22, A Million.

You can stream the track for free on the PEOPLE platform (but heads up, you’ll need to create an account). Listen here.
