Eleanor Friedberger originally made a splash on the music scene in the early 2000s as one-half of NYC duo The Fiery Furnaces alongside her older brother Matthew, releasing 9 albums of ambitious, conceptual, progressive pop. With Fiery Furnaces on hiatus since 2011, Eleanor has forged her own thrilling path as a solo artist, recently releasing her fourth solo album Rebound on Frenchkiss Records, a moody 80s-influenced synth-pop record largely written and inspired by her time spent living in Greece following the 2016 presidential election. Her exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is a unique glimpse into her diverse influences, inspirational faves, and dusty gems from her deep record collection. From start-to-finish this is a wonderful journey through obscure and overlooked international pop songs from the 1970s to today, wrapping up with a fantastic track off her brand new record.
