Midnight In A Perfect World: Doc Sleep

Doc Sleep cut her chops as a DJ in San Francisco before moving to Berlin and becoming a resident at Room 4 Resistance, a queer femme + non-binary forward collective focused on community-building and creating safer spaces & visibility for underrepresented artists. Since 2013, she's been the co-owner of Jacktone Records, an underground label specializing in techno, ambient, leftfield and experimental electronics. She's also released two EPs of her productions, her most recent self-titled EP finding a home on Seattle-based label Bottom Forty Records. Her exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is a deep dive into underground experimental electronics, kicking off with an adventurous Herbie Hancock jam before seamlessly exploring leftfield techno rhythms packed with hypnotic cerebral rhythms, rich atmospheric textures, and squiggly melodies.

Midnight in a Perfect World, KEXP’s weekly hour-long guest DJ show, airs Fridays at midnight. This multi-genre program features eclectic sets by a rotating cast of international and local DJ’s, each building upon a party vibe to kick off your weekend.
