St. Vincent has unveiled a new version of the MASSEDUCTION track “Slow Disco” remixed by none other than Annie Clark herself. The orginally downtempo string-based song is now an upbeat dance track perfect for the club. MASSEDUCTION is Clark’s fifth studio album, following 2014’s self-titled record. Catch St. Vincent opening for Florence and the Machine at the Key Arena on Monday, September 10 alongside Lizzo. [ Under the Radar ]
The Flaming Lips are not a band afraid of experimentation but, perhaps, their next idea may take things a tad too far. In a new interview with NME, Wayne Coyne notes that his next move is to press records with Miley Cyrus’ urine. “You can’t really up the ante too much from human blood, but maybe when the beer is your own beer – the beer was made especially for the Flaming Lips and has our influence in its taste and color,” says Coyne. “That’s not as insane as having a little bit of Erykah Badu, and Chris Martin’s blood in your records. Probably not as insane as that, but still pretty great. The next record we were talking about releasing was the Miley Cyrus And The Dead Petz record. We’d get a good amount of Miley’s pee and mix it with some glitter and put that in. I think that would up the ante. Don’t you?” Catch The Flaming Lips this Sunday, June 3 at Upstream Music Fest + Summit. [ Consequence of Sound ]
