Last night’s episode of Later...With Jools Holland really brought the big guns, in terms of musical performances. The biggest artist, as well as production, was Icelandic legend Björk. Marking her first television performance in eight years, the multi-faceted artist brought a troupe of woodwind instrumentalists to take on Utopia’s “Courtship” and “The Anchor Song” from 1993’s Debut. Utopia was released late last year. This Friday, Björk is releasing her new remix EP on “Slug Genitalia coloured” vinyl. [ Pitchfork ]
Another iconic band to take the Jools Holland stage last night was The Breeders. The alt-rock heroes performed their breakout hit “Cannonball” off of 1993’s Last Splash as well as “Wait in the Car,” off of their recently-released album All Nerve. The new record is The Breeders’ first in 10 years. [ SPIN ]
