Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally released their seventh Beach House album last week, aptly titled 7. Last night, the duo (along with drummer James Barone) stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the atmospheric slow-burner “Drunk in LA.” The trio set the tone with a haze of fog covering the floor of the stage and a projection of a giant pair of eyes behind them. Beach House is embarking on a tour this summer but do not have a show booked for Seattle. You can either catch them in Portland on Friday, August 10 at Keller Auditorium or in Vancouver, BC on Sunday, August 11 at the Orpheum Theatre. [ Under the Radar ]

Deerhunter gave fans at last night’s NYC show at Le Poisson Rouge a surprise gift by inviting Avey Tare, Geologist, and Deakin of Animal Collective to the stage for an impromptu improvisational jam session. Patrick Flegel of Women, who opened the show as Cindy Lee, also joined them. The show was the second stop on Deerhunter’s tour where the band (with a new lineup) planned to sell a limited edition cassette called The Double Dream of Spring. Unfortunately, the Bradford Cox-led band underestimated their appeal and the cassettes sold out the first night of tour. Cox recently announced that the band is working on a new album produced by Caste Le Bon that is tentatively titled Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? . [ Pitchfork ]

Last week, Nine Inch Nails announced a new record called Bad Witch. Today, the Trent Reznor-led band have shared the first single, “God Break Down the Door.” In an interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Reznor explained how the song differentiates from their previous material. “We find if we don’t watch ourselves we tend to try to get somewhere comfortable, because it feels better,”  explained Reznor. “And from the sound of the drums to the kind of frantic drumbeat to looking around the studio and seeing the untouched baritone tenor and alto sax that are sitting there...We pulled them out and we just started fucking around really, led with Atticus [Ross] arranging...The space changed and then we felt motivated. When it came time to sing I was really just trying things out, just to see. I never had the courage to sing like that, I didn’t know I could sing like that.” Bad Witch is out June 22 on Capitol Records. [ Consequence of Sound ]

Anderson .Paak has dropped a new single called “Bubblin” via Zane Lowe’s Beats 1. The song is one of 50 or 60 beats that Jahlil Beats sent to .Paak and is also produced by Antman Wonder. .Paak has two planned albums for release this year, one solo record produced by Dr. Dre and another with his backing band, the Free Nationals. The rapper also revealed to Lowe that he has “65,000 songs in the vault. No features, fam. Some of them are a cappella, no beats. 15-minute songs, my bro. Trust me, I’m good fam.” .Paak’s last solo studio album was 2016’s Grammy-nominated Malibu. [ Stereogum ]
