Midnight In A Perfect World: Imarhan

Meaning "the ones I care about," Imarhan is a collection of friends from Tamanrasset, Algeria making waves internationally with their vibrant Tuareg desert blues music that fuses fiery electric guitar riffs, hypnotic pop melodies, and pan-African rhythms to thrilling effect. This past February they released their sophomore album Temet on City Slang Records to continued critical acclaim. Their exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is an exploratory collection of some of their favorite tracks, spotlighting inspirational artists and current influences that touch upon eclectic global sounds, while sneaking in some surprises from KEXP favorites Daft Punk, Kindness, and José González.

Midnight in a Perfect World, KEXP’s weekly hour-long guest DJ show, airs Fridays at midnight. This multi-genre program features eclectic sets by a rotating cast of international and local DJ’s, each building upon a party vibe to kick off your weekend.
