Anderson .Paak has unveiled the second single for his upcoming album Oxnard. “Tints” is a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and follows this summer’s massive hit “Bubblin.” While Lamar and Paak have worked together a number of times, including the Dr. Dre track “Deep Water” and on the Lamar-helmed Black Panther soundtrack, “Tints” is the duo’s first true collab.
“He’s the most humble, selfless, amazing, focused young gentleman I’ve ever met," Paak said of Lamar in an interview with Zane Lowe. "Some people you can trust to just send it and they gonna send it back and it’s gonna be flames. I just knew that would be the case with him."
Oxnard follows Paak’s 2016 breakout record Malibu and doesn’t currently have a release date. Speaking to Rolling Stone about the album, Paak says: “This is the album I dreamed of making in high school, when I was listening to [JAY-Z]’s The Blueprint, The Game’s The Documentary, and [Kanye West’s] The College Dropout.” Listen to “Tints” below.
