Los Angeles-based rapper Open Mike Eagle has unveiled a video for “Microfiche” from his latest EP What Happens When I Try to Relax. The claymation video sees OME make some political statements as he buddies up with Colin Kaepernick to take on the NFL and gets chased by police. The clip was animated by London-based director/animator William Child. What Happens When I Try to Relax is the first Open Mike Eagle album under his own label, Auto Reverse Records, and follows up 2017’s Brick Body Kids Still Daydream. He’s also working with MST3K’s Baron Vaughn to create The New Negroes, a “stand-up meets-music variety show” set for launch on Comedy Central in 2019.
