All the way back in August, when Father John Misty was on his Pure Comedy tour, he recorded an episode of Austin City Limits for PBS. Recorded at The Moody Theater in downtown Austin, he delivered a shorter set than the other shows on his tour (his Seattle show at the Paramount was over two hours long). Today, his set-ending performance of "I Love You Honeybear," off his 2015 album of the same name, for Austin City Limits was revealed. The full episode airs Jan. 6 on PBS and will be paired with the Black Angels. [ Stereogum ]

Two of the biggest stars of 2017, Kendrick Lamar and SZA have collaborated on a new song called "All the Stars" which has been shared today. The song is on the soundtrack for the new Marvel film, Black Panther, which Kendrick Lamar and his TDE label boss, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, completely produced and curated. The TDE labelmates both put out massive albums this year: Lamar with Damn and SZA with CTRL, both of which have earned several Grammy nominations. Black Panther is in theaters February 16. English collective The Go! Team are releasing their fifth album, Semicircle, later this month and today they've shared the third single off the album, "All The Way Live." The fun, bright, sample-heavy song follows "Semicircle Song" and "Mayday." For Semicircle, main creative force Ian Parton collaborated with current live players Simone Odaranile (drums) and Angela 'Maki' Won-Yin Mak (vocals), as well as two original members, guitarist Sam Dook and rapper Ninja. Annelotte de Graaf (aka Amber Arcades), previous collaborator Julie Margat (aka Lispector), and a crew of unexpected musicians feature throughout. Semicircle is out January 19 via Memphis Industries. KEXP and Neumos are bringing The Go! Team to Seattle on Friday, March 30 to play Neumos. [ Under the Radar ]
Titus Andronicus have announced a new album called A Productive Cough to be released in March via Merge. The album is expected to be a departure from 2015's The Most Lamentable Tragedy, which was a rock opera about manic depression. A Productive Cough is described as having a "subtler, more spacious approach" and that approach is apparent on the lead single and opening track, shared today, "Number One (In New York)." What begins as a spare piano-based song, builds into a sprawling, layered, emotional track that leaves us incredibly excited for the forthcoming album. The song is accompanied by a video directed by Ray Conception. [ Consequence of Sound ]
Memphis singer/songwriter Julien Baker made her late night television debut last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and wow did she make a splash! Performing "Turn Out The Lights" off 2017's album of the same name, Baker threw her all into the performance using just a guitar and some pedals. The 22-year-old singer released her sophomore album Turn Out The Lights in October via Matador which was recorded with Sorority Noise's Cameron Boucher. [ SPIN ]
