Former Olympia resident and K Records signee, Mirah has announced a new EP called Sundial. It follows her 2014 full-length Changing Light and will be released October 4 via Absolute Magnitude. For Sundial she collaborated with musician and composer Jherek Bischoff to write unique arrangements for each of the tracks. She's shared the title track with us today. [ Pitchfork ]

Dev Hynes has announced via Instagram that he's currently working on a new Blood Orange album. The follow up to 2016's critically adored Freetown Sound will be his 4th Blood Orange full-length. Hynes has been busy lately, he recently released new music with his new project VeilHymn and wrote a track for Blondie's new album. [ The Fader ]

Ohio's Guided By Voices has released their new album How Do You Spell Heaven to stream, two weeks ahead of its official release date. Their last release was March's August By Cake and the new album is frontman Robert Pollard's 101st (!) album. The prolific Pollard penned all the songs on How Do You Spell Heaven, which will be officially released on August 11. [ Spin ]

Rhode Island’s annual Newport Folk Festival was a star-studded event this past weekend. The lineup included Wilco, Fleet Foxes, Regina Spektor, Ben Gibbard, Angel Olsen, Margaret Glaspy, Big Thief, and many more. On the final day of the fest John Prine headlined and during his set he brought out a number of people to help him perform some of his beloved songs. Justin Vernon came out to do “Bruise Orange (Chain Of Sorrow)," Roger Waters helped with “Hello In There," Margo Price sang “In Spite Of Ourselves," and Jim James of My Morning Jacket duetted “All The Best." The set ended in a sing-along of "Paradise" with various performers from the fest. [ Stereogum ]
