Prolific rocker Ty Segall has surprise-released a new EP called Fried Shallots that popped up on his Bandcamp page today. The EP is a charity release, with the proceeds going towards the American Civil Liberties Union. Unlike most releases on Bandcamp, this one is unavailable to stream in order to encourage donations, but at only $5 (minimum) it's worth the price. A 12' is also available for pre-order through Drag City. [ Paste ]

Now that DAMN. is a few months old, Kendrick Lamar has released a video for the stand out track "LOYALTY." Both the track and the video feature superstar Rihanna, the album's only guest rapper. Lamar has previously released videos for "HUMBLE," "DNA," and "ELEMENT." Lamar will be taking the DAMN Tour to the Northwest on Tuesday, August 1 to play the Tacoma Dome with Travis Scott and D.R.A.M. [ Pitchfork ]

Goofy legendary band Sparks have a new forthcoming album Hippopotamus that will be released September 8 via The End Records. Today they've shared a new song from the album, "Edith Piaf (Said It Better Than Me)" which follows the previously released title track and "What the Hell Is It This Time?" Hippopotamus will be the band's 23rd (!) album and their first in eight years, since 2009's The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman. [ Under the Radar ]

After months of highly-publicized marketing that included anagrams, cereal, scavenger hunts, music videos, and strange dress codes, Arcade Fire's new album Everything Now is finally out. It's their first album in four years, since 2013's Reflektor, and it's the first to receive such mixed reviews from critics, who are usually the critic's darlings.
