On the one month anniversary of the death of guitarist Dave Rosser of The Afghan Whigs, the band is paying tribute by releasing a cover of Pleasure Club's "You Want Love," one of Rosser's favorite songs. “Pleasure Club was a legendary New Orleans band and Dave Rosser and I had spoken for years about performing this song. In light of his passing we decided to record it in his honor," said Whigs frontman Greg Dulli. Pleasure Club's original singer and songwriter, James Hall, returned to lend his voice to the tribute cover. The Afghan Whigs will play the Showbox on Wednesday, October 18 with Har Mar Superstar. Annie Clark of St. Vincent has landed a new gig as one of the faces of Tiffany & Co. Along with Janelle Monáe, Zoë Kravitz, Elle Fanning, model Cameron Russell, and Bolshoi Ballet dancer David Hallberg, she'll be featured in the fall 2017 campaign "There's Only One." Same Beam's indie folk alias Iron & Wine has shared a video for the second single off their upcoming 8th album Beast Epic, "Thomas County Law." Directed by J. August Wilson, the black & white clip stars Beam as a country preacher getting ready for a funeral service in barn church. Beast Epic is out August 25 via Sub Pop. Hamilton Leithauser has contributed a track to the benefit compilation Philia: Artists Rise Against Islamophobia.
