  • Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard announced in December that he was covering Teenage Fanclub's 1991 album Bandwagonesque in its entirety. Today, he released his version of "The Concept." Gibbard explained why he was covering that particular album: “Bandwagonesque is my favorite record by my favorite band of all time. It came along at a pivotal time in my musical life and I’ve loved it for over 25 years. It’s been such a blast taking these songs apart to see how they work and then putting them back together again.” The album is out July 28 as a part of Turntable Kitchen’s Sounds Delicious monthly vinyl subscription series. It will also be available digitally via Canvasback Music. [ Pitchfork ]

It is a portrait of the kind of fearful thoughts that can run through a person’s head upon the possibility of caring for another person.” Rose will play Barboza on Friday, September 29 with Splashh.
