The recently-renamed psych garage band Oh Sees (fka Thee Oh Sees) are gearing up to release their 19th album Orc. Today they've shared their second single "Animated Violence" which is a killer track and makes the anticipation for Orc that much greater. Oh Sees are also auctioning off 14 test pressings, all hand-painted by frontman John Dwyer himself, to raise money for LA’s Downtown Women’s Center. Electronic duo Mount Kimbie have announced their follow-up to 2013's Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. The new full-length will be called Love What Survives and will be released September 8 via Warp. Earlier this year they released two new tracks, "We Go Home Together" with James Blake and "Marilyn" with Micachu, today they shared another collaborative track called "Blue Train Lines" with beloved UK artist King Krule. Mount Kimbie and King Krule previously worked together for the song "You Took Your Time from Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. Mount Kimbie are currently touring Europe, no word on a forthcoming North American tour. [ Pitchfork ]

alt-J have shared the official video for "Deadcrush," one of the tracks of their recently released third album Relaxer. Directed by Young Replicant, the song and video are centered around the question, "What historical figure would you go on a date with?" Turns out, for alt-J the answer is Sylvia Plath, Anne Boleyn, and Lee Miller, who are all represented in the video. alt-J will be in Seattle on Thursday, October 12 at the WaMu Theatre. San Francisco band The Fresh & Onlys have shared the newest single from their anticipated forthcoming album Wolf Lie Down, the follow-up to 2014's House Of Spirits. Called "Impossible Man," singer Time Cohen says in an interview that the song was loosely based on Ralph Ellison's novel Invisible Man but is also more personally related to his traumatic birth, in which he went into a coma only a few days after being born. “I am an impossible man to understand, breathing into a mic/ Born in a hospital bed, good as dead,” he sings with a far more upbeat timbre than the lyrics would suggest. Wolf Lie Down will be released August 25 on Sinderlyn Records. [ Consequence of Sound ]
