It's been over three years since Annie Clark released the last St. Vincent album but it looks like good news is on the horizon. Today she shared a new song called "New York" that many are hoping is a precursor to a new album. The song itself is far more stripped back than Clark's previous work and suggest possibly a new era for the legendary guitarist. It still has bite though, with Clark spitting out the words, "You're the only motherfucker in the city who can stand me." St. Vincent is embarking on the "Fear the Future Tour" this fall but, unfortunately, no Seattle dates exist. [ Under the Radar ]

Arcade Fire teased the single "Signs of Life" earlier this week and now we finally have the song, as well as a video. Directed by Miami filmmakers Borscht, the video features a pair of special agents who seem to resemble X-Files' Mulder and Scully that take on the case of analyzing the work of Arcade Fire in an attempt to find "signs of life." Everything Now is out July 28 and Arcade Fire will be in Seattle on Sunday, October 15 at the Key Arena. [ Pitchfork ]

A trailer for the new unauthorized Morrissey biopic England Is Mine has been revealed. The film follows Morrissey (played by Jack Lowden) in the late 1970s, before he was the frontman of The Smiths, during his formative years when he was still Steven Patrick Morrissey - a writer - and just meets Johnny Marr. The film is directed by Mark Gill and will be released in the UK on August 4. [ Spin ]

It's such a beautiful thing to be able to witness a band grow from basements and Bandcamp to blog write-ups and an album stream on Hype Machine, which is where Great Grandpa is right now. Their latest album Plastic Cough (released on Double Double Whammy, home to Frankie Cosmos and LVL UP) has been getting a lot of buzz, which has led to an exclusive album stream on the respected blog. We previously covered their single "Teen Challenge" as one of John Richards' Song of the Day picks.
