Song of the Day: The Megaphonic Thrift - Interlopers

The Megaphonic Thrift - Interlopers (MP3)The polarity and range of long-running Norwegian noise-rockers The Megaphonic Thrift has never been hard to find. Their latest album, Sun Stare Sound, (originally released overseas in 2015), marries danceability with a wavefield of distortion and drone, and its songs shimmer in a haze of psychedelia as dual vocals wind through the band's saltwater pedal effects. While many songs, like “Slower” and “The Experiment”, deliver the sonic punishment you'd expect from a Thrift record, “Interlopers” is the poppiest track on the record, making it a perfectly blissful Song of the Day.

Recently, The Megaphonic Thrift has played a few one-offs in Norway, but this supergroup doesn't tend to tour very much. If they do, though, you'll find out through their website and Facebook Page.
