  • Just last week, we had Craig Finn (of The Hold Steady) in the KEXP studios in support of his forthcoming solo LP, We All Want The Same Things. Even earlier this year, Finn did a small Living Room Tour, which you can see in the video to "Tracking Shots." Director Julian Muller captures scenes of him traveling, setting up, meeting fans, and more. Watch below. We All Want The Same Things is out now via Partisan. [ Stereogum ]

  • Revered Scottish duo The Jesus & Mary Chain released their seventh studio album last week, their first in nearly 20 years. But, let's go back to band's 1987 sophomore release Darklands, as UK group The Proper Ornaments have covered their track "Deep One Perfect Morning." The group, led by James Hoare (Ultimate Painting, Veronica Falls) and Max Oscarnold (Toy), shared a statement reading, "We've been obsessed with Darklands for a long time now, we just love that record. It's difficult to differentiate the songs, it feels like a big long pessimistic one, like existentialist Beach Boys music, where the ocean is polluted and the nice cars have been burned or stolen." The band's own sophomore album Foxhole is out now via Slumberland Records (US) and Tough Love Records (EU). [ Under the Radar ]

  • Earlier this year, Portland's Moon Duo released Occult Architecture Vol. 1. Well, Volume 2 hits the streets in May -- get a sneak peek with the single "Sevens" below. Occult Architecture Vol. 2 will be out May 5th via Sacred Bones. [ Stereogum ]

  • Synthpop siblings Sparks have announced a new album on the way, titled Hippopotamus. It'll be the 22nd studio LP from brothers Ron and Russell Mael since forming the band in 1971. As always, the guys serve up some of the best song titles in music history, like "I Wish You Were Fun" and "So Tell Me Mrs. Lincoln Aside From That How Was The Play?" Watch a video for the title track below. The album will be out September 8th. [ Pitchfork ]
