Alex Ruder

R-Pal is the DJ alias of Seattle's Rachel Kramer. Active on the local DJ scene since first getting behind the decks in 2013, Rachel currently runs a cassette mixtape series called Technodad alongside KEXP's own DJ Sharlese and is a member of Seattle's TUF, a female/non-binary/trans collective based in the digital realms of art and music. Her exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is a deep exploration of underground house and techno jams, all selected with a specific and intentional purpose. A note from R-Pal: "This mix is dedicated to the beautiful lives lost in the Ghost Ship fire, to all of the artists whose time & energy carved out the space in music that I gratefully occupy, and to all of the people whom this administration will alienate, deport, deny rights to, criminalize, brutalize, dehumanize."
