  • Father John Misty shares a new track today -- stream the standalone single "Pure Comedy" below, an apt look at the world today, and, as he sings, whether now's the time to bring a kid into the world or not. Director Matthew Daniel Siskin drives the message home with this collage-style video, punctuated with animated sequences. [ Pitchfork ]

  • Post-punk pioneers Wire are sounding as strong as ever, and will release their sixteenth studio album in just a couple of months. Silver/Lead hits the streets on March 31st via their own pinkflag imprint -- stream the first single "Short Elevated Period" below. The release date also marks the band's 40th anniversary of playing their first concert. Later this year in December, their debut album Pink Flag celebrates the same. [ Stereogum ]

  • Speaking of anniversaries, Interpol's debut Turn on the Bright Lights turns 15 years old, and the band are celebrating with a worldwide tour of the LP. No U.S. tour dates yet, and no word if founding bassist and fan favorite Carlos D will rejoin for the trip, but European dates have been announced. The band also shared they're working on new music they hope to release in 2018. [ Spin ]

  • UK duo Goldfrapp return later this year with a new full-length, Silver Eye. It'll be their first new music since 2013's Tales of Us. Check out the opening track "Anymore" below. In a press release, Alison Goldfrapp says, "We've never liked repeating ourselves. Often we react to things we've just done. We like the spontaneity of not knowing. It's only through the process that we start to figure out what it is. The fans who have stuck with us are the ones who embrace that idea and are excited by the thought that they don't know quite what to expect next." So, who knows what more we'll hear when the album hits stores on March 31st via Mute. [ Under the Radar ]
