  • As we mentioned earlier this month, Seattle's own Soundgarden are set to reissue their 1988 debut LP Ultramega OK. Like previous reissues, it'll come bundled with cool previously unreleased bonus tracks, like this early demo of "Beyond the Wheel." Sub Pop explains, "The [early versions] were recorded in 1987 on 8-track tape by Jack Endino and Chris Hanzsek at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle, and mixed by Jack Endino in 2016. These versions feature the band in raw, powerful form — sonically closer to the band’s Endino-recorded six-song debut, Screaming Life — and provide a fascinating window into the development of songs that eventually became staples of the band’s set." Listen below. Ultramega OK expanded will be out March 10th. [ Spin]

  • Conor Oberst has been busy: back in October, he dropped the surprise LP, Ruminations, and in March, he'll release its companion album Salutations. The latest will feature seven new songs in addition to all of Ruminations’ re-recorded in new, full-band arrangements with the Felice Brothers and drummer Jim Keltner. Special guests include Jim James, Gillian Welch, Blake Mills, Jonathan Wilson, M Ward, and Maria Taylor. Check out two new singles "A Little Uncanny" and "Napalm " below. Salutations says hello on March 17th via Nonesuch. [ Stereogum]

  • And we've got more new music from Brooklyn's Dirty Projectors to share. Check out the track "Up in Hudson" below, which a press release claims is "an elegy to the Obama years, to a generation of indie rock, and to a relationship." The new LP is self-titled and will hit stores on February 24th via Domino. It'll be the group's first full-length since 2012's Swing Lo Magellan. [ Under the Radar]

  • Last night, The xx stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in support of their latest, I See You, which hit stores last week. Watch the UK trio perform the album tracks "Lips" and "Say Something Loving" below. You can keep track of all these late night television highlights with KEXP's TV Eye, and catch the band on Monday, April 24th at WaMu Theatre. [ Pitchfork]
